Innovation Management – Why Should the USA or EU Come Out on Top?

There is a momentum of thought in the USA and EU that implies that either of the two continents should come out on top in the innovation game. America: Get Your Priorities in Order!

Here is what irks me about Americans bitching about the Mexican border. There is the incessant, "Oh my God, some illegal may swim across the river" complaining. I could hurl over that!

Boston Tea Party

That great American holiday is looming, July 4, Independence Day. As I watch people celebrate, eat a lot of food, party, purchase firecrackers and keep the neighborhood up half the night and for days following, beautiful fireworks exploding, I wonder if any of my neighbors really contemplate the meaning of the day.

Interstate Commerce, We are the United States but act like the United Countries

I would like to comment on the insanity of laws in our country. We are suppose to be one country, but we hardly act like it. We often complain about industry sector rotation downturns and job losses. Interstate Commerce, We are the United States but act like the United Countries.

The Girl Next Door

When you think about the girl next door, usually it brings pleasant thoughts. She is a lady we have seen around, exchanged greetings and smiles – walked away feeling good. The part about feeling good has a lot to do with the calm atmosphere and the casual meeting. There was no crowd, no expectations of trying to be picked up, and you were not concerned about being rejected. Instead, it was you and a lady exchanging some small talk with no pressure or competition. Over time as you get to know each other the conversation may get a little more personal and you may decide to get together for dinner or drinks. It seems to come natural.

The History of Government and the Right to Keep and Bear Arms

Let's take a look at several thousand years of governmental disarmament of the populace. Of course all the while, the rulers, their guards and armies remained armed. The Founders of America were educated in the classic written histories of our civilization. In fact President Adams and Jefferson among others, studied in numerous languages; Latin, Greek, French, Italian, and Hebrew to name a few of the dozens of languages they read in. Thomas Jefferson, the most prolific reader of books and letter writer of the Founders, kept copies of all his letters to and from his correspondents. His personal library was so extensive that it is the foundation of our Library of Congress. His letters have been assembled, typed and bound into large volumes. The result is far larger than a couple of sets of encyclopedias. His letters of correspondence were even in several languages. The copies of his own letters were made with a manual copy machine comprised of two pens; one he wrote with and the other pen, via a unique mechanical arrangement, made an identical copy of his letter on another piece of paper. It is thought that as much as 80% of his correspondence was lost in fires and later with careless storage of his effects by others.
